After a month of waffling between the Alpha and Semi race I went for the Semi race. The frame is a lot longer then my Tecnica skates. The Tecnica’s were so comfy, but too much padding made them feel like a big easy boy sofa going down the trail. No road feel! The Semis took two trips to the oven to get that fits like a glove feel. So fast, stable and nice!

Many people think making custom boots is easy. You just make a mould of the foot and then build the boot around it. But it is a lot more complicated than that. A speed boot only has 3-5mm of padding and skaters want the boots to be tight. At the request of Nicole Begg, we have striped down an 11.92¡± 1004 S-frame to give it less rigidity to the insane weight of just 84g. The strength of the frame is still high, and Nicole will be racing on these frames at the world championships in Anyang commencing September 2.

Has there been any research on the blade surface/ice contact area? The consensus now seems to be that it should be as polished as possible, and the edges as sharp as possible.

Skis have gone from being as smooth and flat as possible to having a certain structure, water adhesion was seen to brake speed, apparently the Norwegians found this out around the 1994 Olympics. Skin suits have Nike's patented shark skin surface too.

i would like to upgrade my skating into 90 mm or 100m whelles!
I am 1m69 and weight 68 kg and foot are 25cm "long" lol!
I am skating about 60-70 kms a week during summer and
a 30mn jogging a day during winter!

I am afraid to be too high with a 100mm set.
Actually I use a set up of 3*100 1*84 which gives me a lot of control!
