It gets even more depressing from my "inline" view.
Diary entry Sunday Feb 1 1987:

Morning training at Chipping Norton,
2 x 1000m Time Trials, 4x 50m uphill sprints, 6 x steaple chase track intervals (jumps for skill),
Typical "world champ" race home, first one in swimming pool wins.
1st Brett Smith, 2nd ME, 3rd Clarry.

Afternoon training at McArthur Square;
Attendance: Brett Smith, Peter Edmonds, Glen ??? Jago, Clarry, Mark...

And speaking of fast times, I just found my training diary from 1987. Damn we were pretty fast on those old quads.
I have a 10k time listed at 8min 32sec and a 20 km at 36min 40sec.
My best 10k on inlines was last week at 9:23.....must be the years catching up.

In never saw Annie or the Belgians out there...actually I think Annie was done skaing by then, and that must have been close to the end for Danny.

Only Italians out there on that big 400m flat track. Some of the guys involved were Lolabridgeda and Paolo Bomden (old blue eyes) who I knew well from racing against at the 5 campanili that year.

Us Kiwi's teamed up and beat Lola down in Sardinia at the Italian friendship cup. we got David McFarland up for the tour win, Lola...

Hey Johnny is that where and when Anne Lambrechts set her track wr's of 30, 42km and 50km? (Drafting men, one of which was Danny Van De Pierre (spelling?) So people still see her 1980's "wr's" listed on the FIRS / CIC "official" list, even today...

May I suggest we go back to Grenoble where those records were set....and maybe we can have the men lead out and pace the girls like back in august 1987. (I was there)
That's the only way to campare apples with apples.
I believe this was the worlds that Bill missed because he ruffled a few feathers that year (that's unlike the Bill)

Yes & the Gymn man kindly opened his Gymn on a Sunday & showed me what she did, yes Canafoglia was a great champion, but N.Z. go back to Wybrott, McDonald, , Hayes Multiple M. Maxwell, P. Maxwell, Yorke Multiple, long time before the others, so dont be to sure Gianni, Thats not starting the Dobbin Era & quite a few Multiple champs in recent times.

You are sounding More liuke a March Hare by the day.

for example:

You mentioned World Champions not WIC champions, as seniorsAngele Vaudan & Laura Lardarni could win World Inline Cup titles, but not World Senior titles.

Senior World champions are true World champions, I can not recallLaura & Cinza in recent times, but I stand to be corrected & what went wrong the last twoyears with your all conqueering Regions senior ladies, no World Medals, if you claim it, is it because you are one of the ones...
