Great results for Suzy in such a quality field...surely an asset to the NZ Womans team if she swaps to the Black Kit (and stays on wheels instead of blades)
cheers johnny

Yes..it seems NZ is well on the way to having a great team mate for Nicole in the Senior ranks...assuming she trades in her current passport.

Yes unfortunately, every country has cheats, even Holland, the USA & Colombia, so take your pick, who you are aligned with, as you are just another, be it
abeit that still not found Guilty as yet & Bullet will unfortunately have probably come to the end of his sporting career, before all the Mumbo Jumbo legal
ramifications of this case are sorted out, But then again a worst case scenario for you & your family, as your Children do love uou, is that you could end
up in the Dounut Hotel & be faced with Johnnys best wishes.

Hi Roli.
Kalon Dobbin has not retired, he was unfortunately suffering from an injury, that had not cleared up as quickly as it should have, but Like Nicole Begg, who is still not permitted to race, due to blood thinning to prevent Thombouses, there first appearances care likely to be the World Games, 17th, 18th & 19th July in Kaohsiung Taiwan. Peter Micheal is back in New Zealand training, due to lack of team options, the former 3 times World Junior Champion won all the N.Z. Senior national titles, he chose to go for & its hoped the lack of top of the three training partners & the cold Palmerston North Winter, does not effect his form for Worlds. It is a worry for N.Z. this year, as to collect Government Funding, we have to secure so many senior medals, with Shane Dobbin out of the team, due to Ice contract committements, DJ Nation struggled to regain good Technical form after comming back from the Ice & the Injuries to there two Stars Nicole & Kalon, who usually ensure the medals are delivered, it is a concern. Ben Alchin not wanted by the selectors & with the fastest ever Le Mans Official lap time, its time they became a bit more flexible, as the cupboard is becomming very bare & Alchin a former Junior World Medalist, is one of N.Z. Strong Men. Bill |

Nicole & Wayne Begg Return to N.Z.
|
Hi All,
Nicole Begg returns to her Home Town of Timaru, on a high note after a serious early season injury that threatened to cut short her season. she will arrive back on the 3rd October, Wayne Begg is likely to arrive back within 2 weeks after winning the Hong Kong AIC event. 2 World Games Bronze medals & a 5th plus crash in the 500 sprint semi final & 7th, was her first racing in 3 months after her torn Ligaments, then 3 bronze medals, 2 - 4ths, & a 5th in her chosen distances, plus a 12th in the 500 meters road, gave her both the road & Track Overall World titles, the last 4 years as a senior she has won 2 overall road & 3 overall track world Titles, plus a 2nd & a third, but this year is the first year Nicole has won the double, both track & Road overall. On 1st October she won the Hong Kong AIC event, after Earlier winning the Malaysian event, Nicole will return to N.Z. & compete in the Road skating national championships. It will be interesting to see the developement of the new skaters that Nicole & Cheryl got underway, with a big Increase in numbers & the learn to skate program, with Mark Lowen & new members working hard with the learners & Heather Van den Heyden coaching the Speedskaters, who have all improved & the first couple are now reaching the Oceania age Category, as the Timaru based South Canterbury Roller skating Club work to develope Future International stars. With a specialty wheels sport Skating shop in Timaru & sevicing N.Z. plus 200 sets of new Inline hire skates comming into the district, an increase in Skating will be able to be catered for. Bill |

Whats the go with skating in new zealand?
|
Hey Bill,
First time on here in ages. Been watching some of your videos "Beggsport" on Bonttv. Its rejogging the mind a bit. The Offskate was always a killer if if we were out of shape. If you have the weights program kicking around could you flick me a copy. Need to get back into some form of shape. As soon as I stopped skating/cycling, my fitness went to the dogs. Still have a pair bont boots and some old 4 bolt frames. Who's skating for who? Is there any skating which happens in auckland anymore? |

Hi Skaters,
Timaru has applied to hold the New Zealand road marathon Champs at the levels car raceway & will commence early evening on the 23rd January, after the big car race meet, it will double as the first AIC race of 2010, so with both Indoor track & Road nationals in the first week of January in Palmerston North & the Bank track champs in Hastings first week in February, the South Island for the marathon, should be a formality to be approved. Also there will be Coaching Courses on the 23rd & 24th, with Skating Coaching clinic on the 25th, then 26th to 30th the "TOUR OF TIMARU " this once famous race to be revived, with races in the evening, apart from the final day on the 30th in conjunction with the Wiamate sports carnival events, racing is likely to start around 10 am. For the skaters a rest day Sunday the 24th after Marathon & Coaching Clinic the 25th, & rest day Friday the 29th, to allow some R & R, plus sight seeing for the visiting International & New Zealand Skaters. Its the warmest time of the year, usually around the mid to high 20s & low 30's with the beatified Caroline Bay, only 100 meters from the Bank track, a great Holiday & competition for all, with Billet accomodation for those from afar available if needed to save costs. The Tour of Timaru / South Canterbury, is graded racing, A , B, C & D. the very top women will be in the A grade with the men & not so top men, could be in B Grade, to provide even fields & great racing for all. For any enquiries please email to - bill@aic-skaterracing.com Cheers Bill |

Hi Roli,
The New Zealand Government Winter sport program could not advise the New Zealand skaters early enough, if the support programme would continue, Shane in his position went to the USA to train. If Wayne & DJ were to strive for the Olympics, they would have needed funding & that be available for the start of summer ice, with about 2 weeks of summer Ice left, the support approval came through, in Waynes case he had a job & skating contract opportunity in China & we could not support the Ice costs, so he had to make a quick decision & it was to go with the Asian opportunity. As far as DJ is concerned, I was suprized after his Junior World performances, that he did not go ahead with the Ice, but the Dobbin family coach & advise him, so they would know best. So no Ice radar with these boys, both currently back in New Zealand. Bill |

New Zealand Champs | ||
|
Hi All,
The New Zealand championships get underway on the 2nd January through to the 9th, with Road racing, Indoor track & Artistic skating. With 29 men in the opens & 17 in the ladies, the fields are the best for years, both the Junior Girls & Juvinile girls have very strong fields, Scott Arlidge, Kalon Dobbin, DJ Nation & Peter Micheal, will be the backbone of the mens competition, absent from the field are Reyon Kay, Wayne Begg, Shane Dobbin, Glen Cooksley, Shaun Perkinson, Ben Alchin, who are all overseas at present & all with overseas partners except Reyon which has seriously depleted N.Z. Senior Ranks. Nicole Begg while in N.Z. pushes herself by bikeracing against the men & on Sunday was 5th in amongst a top field of the countries women cyclists & a top Australian in the Armstrong Festival of cycling Criterium. But this year she will face some strong skating Challenges, so while not at her skating peak, her 5 year unbeaten record in National titles, could be challenged. Hungarian World representative Suzi Kersco-Magos, N.Z. World representatives Emily Koot & Samantha Micheal, on there own Palmerston North tracks, Upper Hutt skater Michelle Koot & Melissa White from Wanganui, will provide stiff competition in the individual events.. Then the 23rd of January in Timaru on the 2.4 km Levels car raceway The N.Z. Marathon Champs, in conjunction with the AIC, followed by the resurection of the Tour of Timaru, from the 25th to the 30th January. Bill |
