The once proud Speed Skating nation of Italy, continues to shoot itself in the foot, what a disgrace the low number of Italian middle of the road skaters who were not present at Podova. In a meet held in prime public exposure area & Paying down to 6 th in Prizemoney.

Apart from the overall 2 race Sprint & Distance aggreegates paying down to 6th, lets have a close look at the marathon. equalmoney ladies & Mens. Senior 1/ 600 Euro, 2/ 350 Euro, 3rd 250 Euro, 4th 150Euro, 5th 120 Euro & 6th 100 Euro, now thats for SEniors, now you can understand some smiling Juniors Boys & Girls,1st 300 Euro, 2nd 200, 3rd 100 Euro, 4th 80 Euro.5th 50 Euro & 6th 30 Euro, great for the Juniors competing.

So the group of 21 International skaters, who accepted Sandro & Luca's invitation to attend would like to thanl those who did not turn up & let them get away with most the money, while enjoying the racing, in two lovely settings.

Where have all the Romani's, Casu's & the likes gone, but good to see Zangarini, Saggioratto & Erica Zanetti supporting the event, plus the very impressiveJunior girl fron Sardinia, who went home with several hunded Euro's.

Watch out for this event in 2009, which will for sure hold a moderized version of speedskating at its best & what the sponsorship is deserving off.

The ladies Marathon showed the International aspect 1/ Erviti Venezuela, 2/Baena Colombia,3/ Llorens Argentina, 4/ Vivas Colombia, 5/ Ponzetti Italy, 6/ Evcahador Canada, a truely International Flavour..
