This is not true!!! Today I received an statment from the Managing Director of IGUANA Mr. Ott writing me that there will definetly be a Suisse Inline Cup and a World Inline Cup 2009. More news will follow tomorrow on the SIC homepage. The schedule of the races will be confirmed in the next 2 - 3 weeks. see you all in Berlin regards Joerg ZEPTO Skate Team

Posts: 626 (09/09/08 13:19:09) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hi Joerg, I had a phone call from Switzerland today,that people had said there will not be a WIC 2009, but was assured there will be,it depends upon who is getting the right advice, as to if it will be fully supported by all the major players, an early program would certainly go a long way towards ensuring it was well supported. Hopefully the World games will be accompanied by an Asian event the following weekend, seeing a lot of the big players, will already be in Chinese Taipei. Bill

Peter's site reminded me of this problem rumor. I think I know how this has happened. On the Swiss Inline Cup site it has a heading saying the "world roller cup 2009 cancelled". In fact they were announcing the Swiss pulling out of hosting the 2009 World Champs, but there were comments after that on the site indicating this was misunderstood and there was to be no wic. Bill, I think you need to get the Iguana crew to change that. I can't find it now going directly to the site but it popped up while linking to it from somewhere. Posts: 174 (10/20/08 13:51:14) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hello skaters, hello Team Managers, after talking to IGUANA today on the phone it looks like we will have the first draft of the race schedule of the SIC and WIC races for 2009 this week. Seems like we will have some tough races back in the racecalender 2009! It will be interesting to see the the changes to 2009. IGUANA is working hard to get all the dates comfirmed from the race organicers. There might be still some changes after the first draft. May be we will also know the date and country of the worlds 09? Also the new rules will be anounced concerning if 4 of 5 skaters per team. Seems there was a solution found with all the Team Managers! Early Last week I had a meetting with Heinz Schurtengberger the Owner of Iguana & followed up upon some concerns I expressed in Berlin,regarding the WIC & the lack of information forthcomming. A number of sponsors & team owners connected to the skate Industry had various concerns, I was there on behalf of Bont & the interests of the sport. After a very constructive meetting, I agreed that 4 of the suppliers who had concerns, I would approach to see if they were interested in a meetting. Most were of the opinion its the new owners responsibility to come up with the programme & if we approve then we may be part of it. Iguana had also been in touch with the teams concerned also. From my point of view, we have to have a World cup, Heinz said it was also imperative, to any hopes of Olympics, but certainly it needed revitalized & I believe that the new management are trying there best to initiate this, they had asked for input earlier, myself amongst many others I provided written input. After talking with other Team owners,with some similar concerns to Bont, I forwarded some up dated ideas, as to what might be acceptable & interesting to the WIC teams. So I for one are eagerly awaiting a draft copy. Bill

While the Swiss Inline Cup dates were released, some of thw WIC have been confirmed. WIC events. Sunday the 26th April Rennes France. Saturday the 23rd May Sursee. The new Iguana management have come to the conclusion that any changes to team numbers should be given a seasons notice in advance. Could be later another around World games time, or dependant upon World Champs also, could be Haining in China one rumour, if so then, could be one in ASia,after Worlds, the timming of the World champs & announcement of Venue, is currently restricting Iguana's finalization of Asian Program, I will be in Asia on Wednesday for 1 month, so I might know a bit more then. I think only Bill know me, we meet sometimes in WIC events. I'm very angry 'cause I have no notices about 2009. I am a manager like you and no one by the organisation send me an e-mail to inform me about next season. Am I a manager of B series? For me this is a problem. I must give guarantyes to my athletes and I have none. I need sponsors like you but when I write to someone I have no reply. It's very difficult for me, you know?! The must important team are organised yet and I'm not. If someone know the sucessfully way to work and to organise a season in inline skating please give me some advise. I'm totaly desperate. The only information released at present is on the board, I have leant on the new Management to get a couple of critical answers so some of the teams can get on with it, the same applies with Teamnumbers as last year 4 men & 5 women. Other pluses are there will be a Hillclimb SIC race for the tough skaters & a full book of SIC Races. Where World champs are held & when is also holding up programme finalization. With two Big Marathons Rennes due to sponsor change & Berlin due to Elections, there usual dates have changed in 2009, with Rennes likely to be the first on the 26th April. So at present youknow as much as the rest of us, I have no special notice, its only that I was in talks with Management, over letters I had sent, as to how I can tell you what I have & also a meetting with the Swiss Federation on Saturday that Iguana addressed. So sorry I can't help anymore, just make sure the skaters are having their Vitamins lol Cheers Bill

I know and I immagine that the calendar could be unsure, but what I mean it's that the organisation shall comunicate with us on line or face to face, but cominicate. I think they must organize a general meeting with us to explain changement. I think that comunication it's very important! Why they don't open a forum in the WIC site?! We could comparing our ideas and tranquillize our athletes. In Italy we are moving in a complete situation of caos. You know, many teams any year open and closed, so I immagin that it could be difficult to be in touch with managers, but it'necessary. All skaters need to me some certitude, about the calendar, for example. I don't know to reply. I only coud say "We'll partecipate to IIC,SIC and WIC but the calendar is in planning" . They say "ok" and after they look around and talk about other manager and other people who say "we'll go to ... and to ..".I think that's incredible! Are they giving their trust to "wrong people" or I'm making some mistakes? Cheers Sara

Not so sure about that one, Joerg... In Berlin I agreed with Mr Ott to certain things regarding the possible organization of a WIC race in a major touristic resort in Italy (with Mr Begg as a direct witness). I was supposed to have a meeting with this city authorities (who in turn showed interest in an event like that, plus they certainly have the resources)... But I had to cancel that meeting, because I am still awaiting an answer from Mr Ott regarding the new terms & conditions for organizers. Maybe, as Sara points out, they consider there are B-team managers and organizers?
