Under the official FIRS CIC regulations at the end of the championships awards are made for the Overall champions, for the skaters,its their best 3 results, so basically gets to be fought out amongst the Worlds best all round skaters, on the track 300T/T & 500 sprinters doing the 1,000 meters & 10,000 & 15,000 distance skaters also doing the 1,000,or at least 1 sprint event. & taking upon number of starters in each event.
