Lots of great ideas with the exception of the wacky condom pushers. I think Marcello that you must include judges to give the event
creditability. Someone has to run the show. If its just a party you want then give-er but if you want a "real" championship then you will need
"real" judges? Maybe an all master judges panel? lol. Cheers Alex

" Someone has to run the show." Alex, we met in Gijon and I can assure that you're one of the 2 or 3 judges I appreciate in the whole planet... but that's exactly where you
white-collared guys went wrong most of the time: you're NOT those who run the show, but the skaters themselves after the organizers. My next article
-published in a few hours- is about this very subject: hope you like it |

... unless the Italians come by the dozens. In that case we will need not only judges but anti-riot police as well.

Friday, May 8, 2009Kiwi Rambo Jan Molenaar is "One Man Army" in Napier Siege
Jan Molenaar: New Zealand Rambo
Police bring in a tank to deal with Jan Molenaar, described as a real life Rambo. New Zealand authorities bring in the army to deal with real life Rambo, former army man Jan Molenaar is armed with automatic weapons and enough explosive to take his house "off the face of the planet". A suspected New Zealand gunman by the name of Jan Molenarr has been described as a "one man army" in a real life Kiwi version of Rambo. Gunman Jan Molenarr is believed to have killed New Zealand police officer Senior Constable Len Snee, dramatic events in the town of Napier saw authorities sending in heavily armed police and even fired a tank on real life Rambo Jan Molenarr. Former army reservist, Jan Molenarr is (or was) holed up with automatic weapons in his home in the New Zealand north island city of Napier. Police raided his home which is alleged to be used for cannabis drug growing and distributing, that's when Jan Molenarr shot and killed police officer Len Snee. Stunningly its also believed, via friends, that Jan Molenarr has his house stacked with explosives. "There's enough there to take that house off the face of the planet," Jan Molenarr friend Tony Moore told local media. Other Friends of Jan Molenaar told the Dominion Post newspaper Jan Molenarr had been a territorial soldier attached to the New Zealand armoured corps from 1982 ti 1988. They described Jan Molenarr as a "one-man army" and a "nightmare waiting to happen". "The guy is a total Rambo, OK? I've never met another person that's fitter than him," said a business partner of Jan Molenarr. "He's a very good marksman, he's just the wrong person. "Wrong person, wrong place, wrong time, the police should have f@cking known. That's their business." " Someone has to run the show." |

OK, let's get real. I'm looking for chips to use in the races, another reason to have no referees or at least just a few. Although it means a small increase in the entry fee, sadly. As for the dates: november is ideal, IMHO. Why? The inline season is over for good by then, but those who have been racing it will still be in reasonable shape, whereas whoever is interested in the ice season will be well into their training period. Climate locally is perfect: sunny, no wind. More importantly, costs will be lower since air fare/hotel rates will be diminished. So I'll put in a final date and will open entries: if in a month or so there are not enough participants signed in, I'll just throw away the project. Shall we go on? |

Marcello,
Even though I gave my early support of attendance, I have to attend a course in Australia at the end of November, so if it comes off, I'll punch my hand up for next year. However, I will be trying to get up for some LT and ST masters early next year, maybe the the Closing Games in Belgium as well. Keep pushing for the Masters Inline, Frank |

Ok, guys: I need some feed-back before giving final shape to the event. It seems we won't be able to make use of the track an entire day b/c, being a kart
track, karts and motorbikes are supposed to use it too during week-ends. So racing could be done like this: Friday: whole day at the track, - Saturday: morning
at the track, afternoon in an indoor stadium with fine parquet (for 500 pursue and relays, for instance) or an external closed road circuit - Sunday: morning
at the track, afternoon indoor /closed road.
About the registrations: I would suggest starting them whenever the event is properly presented (say, a week from now), and as soon as the minimal nº of participants (say 100) is reached, entry fees can begin to be collected. If a month prior to the event not all fees (for minimum participants) were collected, we can decide to cancel the event or reduce it… Entry fees: I'm collecting the final data about costs, but I'm under the impression it should be around 50€ or less. Right, let me know your thoughts. |

My vote is for closed road circuit instead of the indoor.
Cuts down on the number and types of wheels to bring...and I hate indoor. johnny |

Rather road than indoor - never enjoyed that stuff..
And btw going to the canaries in november to stay indoor doesn't make much sence for a north european. I've noticed the outdoor bars along the beaches at playa de las americas:-)) |

Also my vote is for closed road circuit instead of the indoor. That time of the year in Finland, no much chance to inline skate outdoor.

Cheers, guys... outdoors it is, then. Alas costs increase for that, but no matter. How 'bout registrations and entry fee policy? If nobody disagrees, I
think they sound reasonable...
