The Much awaited Bont return to le Mans is upon us, thanks to Cheryl Begg 10 names can be finally put forward, after many promises from others to support the 24 hour effort Cheryl was having to finalize the team up to 1 hr prior to closure.
In a very sad day in a Skype link up with Cheryl & Aaron Arn't the decision not to race him in the race, was one taken with a lot of input & thought, with regards to his welfare, he has not fully recovered from his horrific accident of last year, with soft tissue around the ankle still peeling off, in a heartbreaking decision Aaron has everyones sympathy, as he was very fit on the bike & tried his best to get the skates moving, but it was not to be.
With a tough pavement & hill on the 4km lap, a lot of damage could occurr to the highly motivated athlete & he realized this week, he was virtually fighting a lost cause.
The young Swiss star Livio Wenger had been on call up all the way through if needed, but being under 18 years of age, he can not partake between the hours of 10pm & 6am, so he will be one, that is sure to get some valued rest during the night.
At the last moment Willem had to find a driving partner for the trip down from Holland & Ard Joined him after many options had opted out due to other committements, Wayne Begg & Ben Alchin were part of the illfated Bont attempt 3 years ago, but Cheryl Begg has ensured all the dots & T's have been crossed, so the only place Bont can lose is on the track.
RPM Poli seems to have a strong team, but like Bont was chasing for last minute replacements, as Mattheui Boher had even emailed an injured Nicole to see if she was available to join there mens team.
Alfather from Roller Enlinge ensures us Bont will be one of two or 3 teams he will be following for the event, due to kick off at 4 pm on Saturday next week.
Cheers
Bill
