The 30 available top skaters list has now been finalized & in a weeks time the WORLD GAMES will get under way in KAOHSIUNG CHINESE TAIPEI, the speed skating the 17th, 18th & 19th July.
A Glimmer of hope for Speedskating for Olympic Inclusion, there will be official live streaming of only 4 sports & SPEED SKATING is one of them, so at the World games a very big plus for our sport.
This is the Olympics for the non Olympic sports, but its where we do not help ourselves, with many replacements called in, Its also not an even playing field, as where as at Worlds in track events, each country can only have two starters, where as, with some countries having up to 5 being able to start in events, where as at Worlds only 2 per country can start, so having 3 or 4 in the long events is a very big advantage.
Colombia 9, with 4 men & 5 Women & Italy & Korea with 7 each are the biggest country contingents.
But it should be a great competition, its nothing short of a Sham that Sara Sayasane is the only USA skater present, as there Inline to Ice programm & their indoor championships are seen as greater priorities by some people, please do not let me hear any grizzles from the USA about a negative Olympic Inclusion result, if it occurrs.
