I am hoping that what is going on here will moove entirely on the bont Facebook page... it's more modern, better for the eye with pictures, vidoes, etc.
So I am inviting Mr.Bill Begg to let us know about the latest on the inline world for 2010...@ http://www.facebook.com/p...6168161?v=app_2373072738 for the crappy stuff about some kid doping his arse, you can forget it though! lol |

Hi Roli,

Inlineamateur, I have been thinking about it. The positives are that most people are already on FB so it would be easy for them to view the Bont Discussion
board, also the ads are not as intrusive as this board. The Bont FB page can also be accessed without the need to log on. It is also easier to link and upload
pics.
However, this board has a very large number of members, and we have a lot of very long topics with archival value. If the FB board takes off and everyone likes it better, then we can switch. alx |

Hmm, I was researching if I can bring all our topics and import them into FB. I just imported our blog into the NOTES section of our cycling FB page. Although
I rarely ban people from the Bont forum, it is sometimes necessary. However, with the FB discussion board I wouldn't be able to ban anyone:

Well probably Facebook will have an ad-on about this and make it change. I hope we won't have to be a two places though, I like to make a stop here and
have a wide range, would'nt help to have to check both places for some news!
I did'nt mean you Mr.Begg about the child doping debate, but more the anoying prick that kept changing ID name on the forum to back-up his own arse. It will be more difficult with Facebook to do that I think. It's nice to see the update news on the front facebook page about Bont such as the A to A race results on Meija etc, the small images realy help to make it good for the eye as well! |

Yea, one of the biggest problems with this forum is uploading photos. Most people don't know how to do it. They need to have their own server or know how
to use an online file storage web site. So a FB message board could better because anyone can upload or link a picture with a very basic understanding of
computers.

GOOD LUCK.. JUST DON'T FORGET THEY MIGHT BE WATCHING! | ||
|
yEAH! i am so happy the fb world will now enjoy the bliss of Bont Skates!! My Semi-Races are so awesome I'm wearing them right now, three hours after
sitting down to type! So comfortable I forgot I was wearing them! And I can fly on land w/ them!! Heaven!! I pray the whole fb world learns the joy of Bont
skates soon!! Just don't forget to turn on all the privacy controls you can on FB. They recently had a program called "Searchlight" where they
watched where else you went on the web, and when you bought anything they told your friends! After complaints, they ended that quick, but I bet they are still
watching where we go!! A statement from FB HQ that they will no longer watch where we go on the web would be very welcom at this point to allow more people to
feel free and safe to join w/o giving up all privacy. I mean really!! Enjoy the skating, fellow Bonters!!! It is time to finally get the whole world on
skates!!

1.) The problem with the online storage is that most free webspaces do not permit external linking. Often the pictures are removed after some time etc. After 2
or 3 years you will have only half of the photos left.
2.) If you cant ban users you cant make a forum. I am also administrator of a little phpbb forum with less than 50 users and even there I have problems with spambots. 3.) Not everyone has a facebook account, so not everyone can join. The facebook group is good for people that already have a facebook account that they use. At a forum I only have to enter my username, password and email address that I use everywhere else. At facebook I have to fill out my whole profile. 4.) Uploading images works on this forum too.
