I rekon it might be Stefano Galliazzo, he's been hovering around the pointy end in a few races and he got 4th in Engadine last year. Any bets? Last night we had a smal BBQ party with the Kiwi winner from last year and a fill them with some good home cooking. This morning the village is a bit of a ghost town so lets hope the party will be jumping tonight. The skaters will have a fair tail wind so could be a fast race again. The weather is still sunny with a few clouds overhead and no sign of rain. I will be at the halfway point and will give you an update if there is a strong breakaway but it will be neutrilised on the steep hill after the village to hopefully avoid a nasty crash like in Weinfelden. Walking wounded from last weekend are skating and only a handful missing. Bye for now from Sunny st Moritz. Niki

Posts: 439 (06/29/08 00:20:33) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hi Gianni, Basically you were either at the Village or the finish for Photo's, In the men Nicolas Iten was apparently the first to the top of Pontrasena, Then 6km. km to go Him & Scott Arlidge had a 200 meter gap, they were caught then shortly after Iten got away with fellow Swiss severin Widmer & went 1 & 2, For the 2nd race in a row Guyader done Saggiorattoin the sprint & Ben Alchin N.Z. a big suprise in the sprint for the 3rd place, While Mantia & Max Presti were burried in the bunch, with no where to go. The ladies Well Pontrasena Only going on my girls team feedback here, Nicole chased someone early on, then Cinza Ponzetti & India Kuhn made attacks that she had to go after & Liana Holguin also helped bring back one of them. In the Downhill run to the finish line, Turchiarelli made the running, with such a strong & fast sprinter our first two lead out options were used to get level & Nicole had to go early to get Cecilia to the narrow gap, for the bunch sprint, before BONTS options closed., after Elma De vries had stolen the race, while the strong teams were watching each other. Unfortunately Powerslide Allessi have tried stretching " BONT WHEELS " in the last two races, with breakaways & a longlead out, which has some what effected Bonts results, while other sit & wait teams have benefitted & Alessi Powerslide missed the podium, in a fair World they would have deserved better,particularly Turchiarelli.
