Wesley Lommers suspended by dutch ice speed skating union. All his times skated this current season are taken out of the dutch long track time database (SARA). Since the arbitrary commision is (still) looking at the case, there is, for the moment, no official reason announced for the suspension. But rumours involve doping and Danny Almonte imitation... But maybe they are rumours for a reason and the real story is different... to be continued...

Edwin sometimes described as a Maniac sports supporter,has ruffled many feathers over the years, every time he does so, others refer to the size of young Wesley, to the size of Edwin & thats where it starts & allegations arise, I have never publically gone down that road, as I have seen his two children as very gifted young sportspersons on both Inlines & Blade Skating. But the center of the ALLEGATIONS seem to be around two fronts & that someone may not be as young as supposed to be, so that could be European medals & all gone west,if was the case. The other, the more serious side, where precedents have been sent & the parent invited to spend time at the governments Hotel. Edwin has always maintained a very tight family unit & if proven Guilty of any discresions, the boot will really go in from all those who have suspected, all is not exactly to the book, or the wrong book. The World Awaits & this is a big story, as young ? Wesley if the age is right, had future World Champion stamped all over him. But the powers to be, surely do not take you out a data base just for abuse, or difference of opinion. ? Bill

I had the chance to meet them in Germany a couple of years ago. I know Edwin has less than a charming manor when he writes on several websites but his interest in the sport and in his kids is very real. I only hope this could be a mistake. Even if it is, people will always wonder when they see a Lommers on the podium in the future. That being said I also knew Jim Gahan and thought he was an OK guy with a promising young son. He is know doing 6 years for feeding his young lad steroids. If you are going to cheat please consider another sport. We have enough problems without your adding to the list. Cheers Alex

I have read several blogs spanning the past few years and there is many mentions of how these kids "have no life" and have to deal with standover tatics from their father.Also alot of suspicians of Wesleys true age and body development. When they last raced here last year Dominic raced against my daughter and when she lost one race (4th) My daughter heard him saying some harsh loud things which alot of people heard and were not happy about it, poor thing was in tears while the mother looked on. Lets hope the kids recover from this and come back to the sport "with bells on" and no more suspicians. Parents should nurture not abuse their kids sporting abilities. Just another angry parent!

The KNSB has sent the case to their own anti doping tribunal and the junior, who can be typed as a great talent, is suspended while he waits for decision. It is the first time in dutch ice skating history that a skater is tested positive. dutch bondscoach Wopke the Vegt speaks of a tragic incident; "It is sad that the clean image of the sport, and junior skating in particular, is damaged. for the record... the law in holland is not as strict as it is in the US so a pitty for you guys, but dady Lommers won;t be doing 5 years jailtime here... probably 2 weeks on probation and 100 dollar fine...
